Lab Report 6 Help

Post  Kathleen on Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:39 am

FOR LAB REPORT 6 Part 1 "PREPARATION"

Question 1:

T net = I*alpha

omega = omega_0+alpha*t

omega_0 is the Initial angular velocity

Equation (2) shows that, when plotting the angular velocity vs time, the graph is
linear with its slope = angular acceleration

Question 2:

I = (m*r*(g-r*alpha))/(abs(alpha_fr)+alpha)

Question 3:
C = 3, D= 5, E= 6, H= 1 , F=7, B= 4, A=2, G=8

Question 4:
D=1, F=4, C=2, A=6, B=3, E=5

Question 5:
I_disk = .5*M*R^2
Fill in answers in order - > greater than, greater than, very small compared to, small compared to, quadratically

Question 6:
L = I*omega
Iw = Iprime*omegaprime

Question 7:
I' = I+I_disk

Question 8:
D= 4, B= 3, A= 1, C= 2

Just a note

For Questions 3&4, I just noticed that they change the numbers around so don't follow what I posted because it will be different for everyone. The questions are pretty easy if you look at the lab manual.

I'm not really sure, this new format for the labs is kind of confusing, I don't even know what we're supposed to use as a report sheet but from what I understood - this part is due before lab and the execution part is due after lab. I think they're trying to start doing this in place of the lab quiz. I don't have lab until thursdays though so if anyone has it before then let me know the process

after this lab it is due before the lab. I am quite sure for this one you can do it after the lab

The units for omega are rad/s
The units for alpha are rad/s^2

Can someone please put up their times and velocities for the first graph (Frictional Acceleration) my trend might be incorrect. I hope someone can please put this up soon so I can see if we should redo it or not. Thanks.
