How do you find T_c and what is Delta R & Delta C?
How do you find Actual Frequency?
How do you find error for resonance frequency?

Lab 6 Execution Empty Actual Frequency

Post  Kathleen on Mon Mar 16, 2009 8:31 pm

It says in the lab manual that actual frequency = dialed frequency * r (where r is the ratio you calculated on execution sheet 3, and also entered it about the chart on the excel sheet)

Lab 6 Execution Empty Thank U so Much

Post  cutiepie on Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:42 pm

I did not realize the the ratio was the r. Thanks!!!
Does anyone know how to get the T_c and error T_c?

Lab 6 Execution Empty Resonance Frequency

Post  cutiepie on Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:29 am

I believed the resonance frequency was what was calculated on page 13 with the 1/period. That worked for me and I guessed on the error but is there a formula we are suppose to plug-in to find the error.

-Does anyone know ow to figure out T_c capacitor and resistor and the errors. I watched the video and did what hey said but it is still not coming out right.

hey is anyone having a problem on the excel sheet...cuz when i typed in yes because my resistant and capacitor were consistant and it didnt accept it, then i plugged in "no" it still didnt accept or show green....i dont know what else to do...

how do you figure out the the value of Tc on the graphs...the one for the capacitor voltage and the one for resistor voltage?

Lab 6 Execution Empty Resonance Frequency

Post  GUEST786 on Wed Mar 18, 2009 12:53 pm

For the excel sheet on the bottom left side the question that asks What is the resonance frequency measured from the graph? My answer i got was 1.67E3 and it green up. Now my question is how do i find the error?

Lab 6 Execution Empty error of calculated resonance frequency + inductance

Post  :) on Thu Mar 19, 2009 1:21 pm

hey guys, i've been struggling with this one for a while =/

and also, my friend told me the Inductance value for Execution sheet #3 should be in the lab manual, but I don't see it o.o

if you guys could help me out, i would greatly appreciate that thanks

*oops i posted a new topic by accident

Lab 6 Execution Empty Execution Ans.

Post  NOREALNA on Fri Mar 20, 2009 8:52 am

T_c is .0001, it is the same for everyone because we all should have used the same capacitance and resistance which were 10e-7 and 1,000, so you just mulitple them.
T_c capacitance is the place on your graph where your x axis equals your V_c. error should be about .000012.
T_c resistance find it the same way and the error is the same
error for T_c is .000014

ratio is measured frequency over the frequency you think it is on the generator. my ratio was about 1.09. To measure the frequency, find the period of the graph on the oscilloscope and do 1 over that.

To find actual frequency numbers just multiple your first column numbers by the ratio you calculated. Your resonance frequency is the number that has the highest Vr which you should already know from the calculated frequency you did for the ratio.
error for graph res frequency is sqrt(((deltaL/L)squared)+((deltaC/C)squared) then that number times your resonance frequency.

calculated res freq is in the pre lab which is 3183. error is the same as the one for the other res freq. but very imporatant is that ou have to multiple that number by 1/2 and then 3183.

good luck
