the shorter distance is 6 cm
the longer distance is 25 cm

I guessed the shorter distance since the object and image are 30 cm apart from each other, i used 30 cm as "i" and 5 for f. then solved for o and got 6. For the longer distance, I just plugged in values of o and i that would add up to 30 and picked the set that gave the closest answer to .2 (1/5=.2 for focal length) and that happened to be 25.

Deltao = ((Deltao)/o)*(1/o)
Deltai = ((Deltai)/i)*(1/i)

sqrt(((((Deltao)/o)*(1/o))^2)+((((Deltai)/i)*(1/i))^2))

anyone know how to find the error in f for on the excel sheet? I tried using the equation from the lab prep but it doesnt work. Also, how do you find error in magnification? thanks =]

sqrt((Deltah_i/h_i)^2+(Deltah_o/h_o)^2)* mag of(h_i/h_o)

its the same thing for both errors of magnification
