hello every,
did any one get Q14, I am having a very hard time with that
also, what are the S.I.Units in Q15
thanx

heeyyyy
quick question
for #7
what numbers u use for (abs(alpha_fr)+alpha)

Unfortunately you need to do your graphs first. The #'s you need are the slopes of the graphs.

Question16 on Execution
hey so does anyone know what to do for question 16. I can't remember how to do it at all. any help please? I feel like this quesiton was asked in the last lab and i had a hard time figuring it out then. thanks!!!

questions 11 & 16
Im having trouble calculating I for the system with the large weight on it.. question 11. i understand howto find deltaI..but cant get that without a value for I.. should I be using the same equation as before? I= (m*r*g)/(alphafr-alpha)? I used this equation and it came out wrong.. are the values of alphafr&alpha the same throughout the lab?
Also- whats the equation for finding L? (question 16)
thanks!

question 15?
I think i understand how to get the ratio in question 16.. but i dont understand how weget thevalues for L and delta L, Lprime & deltaLprime..
& im having a problem with question 11 too what is the equation we use to get the combined moment of inertia Iprime?

Re: Lab Report 6 Help
L = angular momentum before disk is dropped
deltaL = error of angular momentum before disk is dropped
L' = angular momentum after disk is dropped
deltaL' = error of angular momentum after disk is dropped
I' = I + Idisk
Idisk = .5*M*R2
L = I*omega; units for I = kg*m2, units for omega = rad/s.
L = [kg*m2*rad/s]
deltaL = error of angular momentum before disk is dropped

deltaL' = error of angular momentum after disk is dropped

Re: Lab Report 6 Help
Units for L > kgm^2rad/s
For # 7: I=mr(g-ra)/abs(alpha_fr)+alpha ; deltaI=deltar/r*I
For # 11: I'= I+I_disk ; deltaI'= sqrt((deltaI)^2+(deltaI_disk)^2)
For #15: L=I*w ; deltaL=sqrt((deltaI/I)^2+(deltaw/w)^2)*L
Hopefully, that helps

Re: Lab Report 6 Help
Just to clarify, for graph 1: the angular velocity is on the y axis and the time on the x axis, right? Becuase when I try to find slope, the only answer that I can put in for MapleTA is a negatve one, and clearly my slope is increasing

Re: Lab Report 6 Help
Then something is wrong. For Graph 1 the slope should be negative. The graph itself is a negative linear slope.

Q15 need helpp plz
how do i get L before for Q15....i keep getting it wrong when i do L=Iw is there another way of doing it

Re: Lab Report 6 Help
You need to calculate L and L' which is really just the angular acceleration before (L) and after (L') the disk is dropped.
To calculate L take the I from Question 7 and multiply it by omega in Question 13. L' should be the combined Inertia (I') from Question 11 multiplied by omega' in Question 13.
Try those.
